Communities rely on public recreation and aquatic services to stay healthy, happy and active.

As popular, accessible and affordable gathering places in our communities, it is important that public parks, swimming pools, arenas, and other public recreation facilities resume services to help British Columbians weather the COVID-19 pandemic.

With the guidance of the BC Restart Plan, many recreation services have begun to reopen in communities across the province. But we need more.

These vital public services are important for both physical and mental health, and to support kids, families, seniors and vulnerable members of our community who rely on municipal services as their primary health and social outlet.

By offering more safe recreation with proper public health protocols in place, more British Columbians will get the play and fitness they need without unnecessary risks.

Add your name to the growing list of British Columbians who believe that recreation in our communities needs to be expanded.
